O&M of Utilities and Utilities Privatization

CH2M HILL operates and maintains a variety of utility systems for government and commercial clients under stand-alone contracts and as part of our base operating support. Utilities supported include potable water treatment plants, pump stations, storage tanks and distribution systems; wastewater treatment plants, collection systems and lift stations; saltwater pump stations and distribution systems; oily waste treatment plants; gas and other types of power plants; power distribution and lighting systems; steam plants, steam generation and distribution systems; and compressed air plants and distribution systems.

CH2M HILL currently holds 50-year contracts for full ownership, operations and maintenance of the formerly government-owned wastewater and water utility systems Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Irwin, CA.

Contingency & Logistical Support

CH2M HILL provides contract support for facilities engineering and people-support functions for contingency operations around the world to include planning; purchase, delivery, and accountability of equipment and materials; construction and erection of facilities; communications; environmental support; sustainment operations (maintenance and operation of facilities and systems, fire/crash rescue service, and operation of food service, lodging, and recreation programs); restoration of locations; reconstitution of assets; and ordnance and explosives support.

CH2M HILL is currently the managing partner is the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program which provides commanders and/or any Government agency a responsive, force multiplier option. We are also operating under our five-year AFCEE Heavy Engineering Repair and Construction (HERC) contract. Requirements under HERC encompass the activities necessary to design and construct new facilities and infrastructure, and remodel and upgrade existing facilities and infrastructure.

Disaster Response

CH2M HILL has extensive experience providing volunteer and professional national disaster response and recovery services that are rapid and scalable. Our contingency response and recovery teams have supported various types of natural disasters including hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, wildfires, earthquakes, and mudslides. We have developed small business partnerships nationally to align with our disaster services in the areas of temporary housing, mass care, design and construction of community temporary housing sites, and technical support services.

CH2M HILL has been serving the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) since 2005 under the Individual Assistance-Technical Assistance Contract (IA-TAC) I, II and III. We have delivered recovery services for FEMA in response to disasters such as Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike; tornados in Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee; flooding in Minnesota; wildfires in California; and severe storms in West Virginia. Our IA-TAC services included program management; installation, maintenance and deactivation of temporary housing units; design and construction of community; mass care emergency support services; and housing strategy and technical services.

Building Information Modeling

CH2M HILL's delivery of both plant and building information models over the years has led to an advanced integrated delivery platform Building Information Modeling (BIM). Our specially designed tools create and 3D model that integrates design information from all disciplines, reducing the amount of time architects and engineers need to coordinate building systems and improving quality control by enabling interference checks while the structure and equipment locations are being laid out.
