Semiconductor Manufacturing

CH2M HILL has earned its reputation as the premier designer of landmark semiconductor facilities for industry leaders, ranging from the very first plants in the United States to microelectronics campuses and flagship fabs across Europe, North America, and Asia. Recent changes in technology have led to projects involving equipment and facility migration from 200mm to 300mm wafers, and new 300mm facilities with manufacturing processes yielding product at sizes as small as 45 nanometers.

Cleanroom Design

Systems Integration—Microelectronics

Lab Planning & Design

CH2M HILL designs research facilities for private, public, and university clients world wide. We have special expertise and experience delivering clean, ultraclean, and biocontainment (BSL-1 through BSL-4) environments with the highest level of staff and facility protection, strong emphasis on operational safety, blast hardening, and CBR protection.

Our lab facilities are designed to support R&D equipment technologies ranging from standard X-rays to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), SEMs, TEMs, and STEMs. Design criteria for this equipment include vibration and electromagnetic field sensitivities, and special utility requirements. Nanotechnology

We provide leading edge capability in the design and construction of nanotechnology facilities for both university and commercial clients. Our experience includes facilities involved in some of the world's most advanced research in technologies such as nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS), microelectro-mechanical systems (MEMS), nanoelectronics, nanosystems, and nanophotonics.

We've helped nanolithography researchers design new facilities, upgrade and expand existing research spaces, refine processes to further miniaturize integrated circuit features, and perform cost estimates for new nanotechnology facilities. We are skilled in the application of the specialized design considerations required for these facilities, including rigorous vibration and cleanliness criteria.
